Colleen's Cottage first opened in 1999 as a result of a lifetime dream of Colleen Embry. Colleen had over 20 years experience in retail gift store management and buying and with the support of her husband, Don, and the encouragement of many close friends, Colleen's Cottage became a reality.
Colleen's Cottage started out in two small rooms above a beauty salon in a small house located at the corner of Collier Avenue and North Main Street in Shelbyville, Tennessee. After a very successful first year in business, Colleen had the opportunity to expand her business and purchase the house.
With the help and support of her many friends and customers, Colleen's Cottage has come to be known as the perfect place to shop while having fun looking at the latest styles and gifts. Every year at special events, you will find Colleen's close friends helping out, whether decorating the cottage to wrapping gifts. She is thankful for such loyal friends and dedicated staff. (which includes her wonderful mother who is by her side bringing her lunch and helping out each week). Colleen's carries unique and distinctive gifts.
